Earlier this year at the AACEI 2013 annual meeting, we announced our latest product KCM+. KCM+ is a browser based reporting and automation tool which greatly enhances the capabilities of our flagship product, Kildrummy® CostMANAGER. Today we’d like to show you a sneak preview of dashboard reporting – one of the major features of the first release of KCM+.
KCM+ is scheduled for release in November 2013 and is currently under heavy development. All features described in this article may be subject to change.
As a user of KCM+, you will have your own unique and customizable dashboard page, from which you can survey any recent activity in the system and quickly view your favourite reports. This gives you a single centralized location where, at a glance, you can find the data which is most important for your day-to-day work.
Your dashboard can be customized by adding any number of configurable widgets. Currently we have four types of widget available: a Favourite Reports widget, a Recent Reports widget, a Specific Report widget, and an Activity widget. You can use as many or as few of these widgets as you need. The same widget can even be used multiple times, so if you have several reports that you view on a regular basis, you can add the Specific Report widget as many times as you need in order to display all the reports directly on your dashboard.
At any point you can put the dashboard into edit mode, allowing you to add and remove widgets, change their titles, resize them and rearrange them. If you have a new report that you want to see on the dashboard, then it takes only seconds to update. Any changes you make will update in real-time so that you can preview the look and feel of your dashboard before you save and commit your changes.
All of the widgets displayed on your dashboard can even be automatically updated to display the latest data. With the correct configuration, KCM+ can pull data from other systems at scheduled intervals, and process it for display on your dashboard. So if your colleagues have entered new data into Kildrummy® CostMANAGER, Excel, or any other compatible system, then KCM+ can automatically retrieve this data and display it on your dashboard.
And best of all, because KCM+ is browser based, you can access your dashboard from your office computer, your mobile phone, a tablet, or any device with a modern web browser. KCM+ dynamically adjusts to your device resolution, giving you the best possible experience no matter what device you use to access the system.
